Bloggaday 79 – Chuck Lorre Recycles… Jokes

Bloggaday 79 – Chuck Lorre Recycles… Jokes

It’s kind of funny. After watching Two and a Half Men and big Bang Theory for so long and seeing so many reruns of them, you start seeing a lot of jokes being recycled, not only on the same show in different situations, but across both shows. This is of course because they are both Chuck Lorre shows.
I don’t know if the shows share the exact same writing team, but there is obviously some overlap. There seems to be more and more overlapping situations in the two shows as time goes on.
I have also noticed there has been some blurring between the two shows though. Two and a Half Men has always had a lot of sex-based humor. That’s the nature of the show. Big Bang Theory seems to have incorporated more of it since its first season. I don’t recall it being used quite as extensively as it is now.
While there is definitely cross-show humor, the joke recycling is more common on each show respectively. Two and a Half Men seems to do this more, but I imagine that’s just because it’s been on for almost a decade while Big Bang Theory is on what, their 3rd or 4th season? I suppose I could look it up since I’m on my computer, but if you are reading this, you are not only on your computer, but you are actually online, which makes you much closer to the answer than me.
That would have been much funnier (or funny at all) had I said that in a recent Bloggaday, making it a recycled joke, but alas, I did not. As I write this, I’m thinking about posting this in a couple of days and write another one for today to plant that seed. Unfortunately, I’m too lazy to look up how long Two and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory have been on the air, so that plan doesn’t look too good to me. I mean I would have to write another couple of hundred of words. I can’t be bothered to do all of that wor

Bloggaday 78 – The Ultimate Soap Opera

Bloggaday 78 – The Ultimate Soap Opera

I always thought of the WWE as a bit of a Manpera, a man soap opera, but as I watch more and more of the Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV, it’s almost as bad. I suppose I shouldn’t use the term, “bad.” I’ve watch wrestling for years, even though I don’t any more. It was a bit much, but it was enjoyable.
I did pick up watching it a while ago, and I watched it for a while. I was always a fan of the Hurricane, and I got to see him go from Reporter, to Masked Hero, to Wrestler, so that was cool. I got to see Taker/Michaels, which was one hell of a match and the return of the real Taker, which was also pretty awesome. Sadly, didn’t see the Rock come back, not even as a Raw’s guest host.
But I guess the Rock is too busy doing kid’s movies. I must say though, that’s a bit disappointing. I’m not a fan of Vin Diesel or Ice Tray, but they are doing the same thing.
Anyways, back to The Ultimate Fighter. This is only the second season of it I’ve watched, but I enjoy the show. I saw last season with Rampage Jackson and Rashawd Evans (Was that his name?). I knew who they were, but I wasn’t familiar with either one. For the first few seconds, I was a Rashawd fan, but I switched to Rampage… Rampage didn’t do too well, and honestly, he wasn’t the greatest coach for his guys. I hated that the one guy ended up winning the whole thing. It was cool seeing the heavyweights go at it, so I think I jumped in on a good season.
This season definitely has some characters in it. I haven’t taken to one team as much as I did last time. Though the “loud coach seems to be doing poorly again.
This has been one of the most stream-of-thought Bloggadays I’ve written, and I’m not getting much writing done, so I think I will go ahead and end this Bloggaday

Bloggaday 77 – My battle with PPM

Bloggaday 77 – My battle with PPM

Oi, I’m starting to think that Chuck E. Cheese is an evil place. I go with my niece and nephew from time to time, and every time I go, the place tries to kill me by rupturing my stomach. That damn rat pins me down while the Italian crams food down my throat, because, you know, I wouldn’t overeat on my own volition.
It’s not that I’ll just sit down and cram all of the food in. I’ll eat; probably a little more than I need, but then I’ll eat more here and there for the rest of the time I’m there. That all leads to post-pizza misery, or PPM for short.
I like to think I have relatively good self-control when it comes to food, but not so much when it comes to pizza. Pizza is one of the few things that I will quite literally gorge myself on. Now my use of “pizza” has the assumed inclusion of breadsticks in it. While Chuck E. Cheese is the only place where I contract PPM, it is mainly due to their breadsticks.
Don’t get me wrong, if they aren’t skimping out on the cheese, their pizza is really good, but their breadsticks are something else. Combine that with the rarity in which I eat it, and the typical result is PPM.
Given the requirements of PPM, it is not a common affliction. I can’t really think of a time in recent history when I’ve had it from any place other than Chuck E. Cheese. I will keep you up to date if any other cases of PPM break out.

Bloggaday 76 – Verbatim, On-The-Job, Bloggaday

Well, I think I’ve already posted my new job as an enumerator her on the Bloggaday, but I’ve finally finished training. During Thursday, my Crew Leader actually had us go out in the field to run some interviews. Since our group didn’t have enough binder, we had to break into groups.
As much as I would like to bore you with the details of the outing, I’m not sure how much I’m allowed to tell, so I won’t tell ya anything. I will say training much faster than expected. It was supposed to be like 24 hours, but it was probably about 18 or so. Unfortunately, I still missed a lot of classes, but it was pretty easy money.
On the speed of the training, it doesn’t appear to have been a universal phenomena for the different groups. Our group leader did appear considerably faster than the “floating crew leader” that took over for a little while. The training kind of just grinded to a stop until our CL (crew leader {the Census Bureau likes their abbreviations}) stepped back in and took over. While it’s not necessarily anything against the floater, but our guy just knew what he was doing, and we all kept up.
Well, hopefully tomorrow, I’ll go get myself some more interviews and bring in the ching from the government… oh and the whole, gather invaluable statistical information for my country… Anyways,
I wanted to say something else, but I don’t recall what it was, so I suppose I will just end it here.

Stand back, I’m a government agent, and I’m licensed to mill… about and ask questions.

Bloggaday 75 – The Third ACC Video

Bloggaday 75 – The Third ACC Video

It’s Friday, so that means it’s time for another Avatar Cosplay Cast youtube video. If you’ve been keeping tabs on these videos, you know I didn’t actually just post the video. This Friday post is more of an announcement for the video and a mini update on its status.
The last week has been pretty good for last week’s video, the second ACC. Pushing a 100 views in a week. ACC 3 is starting to catch up to ACC1, and I won’t comment on the status on the last video until next week. I guess you’ll just have to go to youtube to see for yourself.

Despite the early video posting, I’m still going to roll out these Friday Bloggaday’s for the one more week. They will just be more of a reminder/update than an announcement.
Without further ado, go check out ACC3 at

Bloggaday 74 – Growing Up in 2010

Bloggaday 74 – Growing Up in 2010

Well, I think I might be growing up. That there is quite the interesting though to cross your mind. 2010 seems to be my grow-up year.
2010 is the year I turned 21. No, I can’t rent a car yet, but I think there is something else you can do when you turn 21. If I remember what it was, I’ll post it.
2010, I got myself a job. Granted, it’s only temporary since I’m an enumerator for the 2010 census, but hey, it still counts
2010 job getting, caused me to get a checking out, another new thing for me that points towards me being an ol’ somebich.
2010 is also the year when I finally finish getting my discount knowledge at the junior college (Thanks goes to Rodney Atkins). After spending three years at Crafton Hills Community College, I’m finally going to big-boy college. I just finished my first final for this semester.
2010 was the year I never heard from Sonoma, so even though I’m not jumping up to grown-upness by living on campus, I will be going to CSUSB for my Bachelor’s.
I may just get published… in a scholarly journal… Much more boring with the modifier, but it’d still be cool.
2010 also kicks off this here Bloggaday, so I suppose a year-long commitment from someone with my typical attention for these things is rather adult-like.

I know there are other things, but now all I need to do is *blow my life savings* and get a DUI, and I can cap out the year of firsts. That’s right, I can go to Vegas at 21… I knew I was forgetting something.

I’m off to 8-5 Census training, 5:30-7:00 Physics Midterm, 7-10 Physics lab… Psssh, and I don’t think of myself as an adult.

* Replacing my original thought. Also available at Vegas.

Bloggaday 73 – PWND with a Side of Bacon – The Law of Special Baconivity

Bloggaday 73 – PWND with a Side of Bacon – The Law of Special Baconivity

Unfortunately, I didn’t get more done on this, so I might repost it another day with more content.

I’m letting you guys here at the Bloggaday get a special sneak peek at something before the bidding war starts from all of the scholarly journals. It’s my Law of Special Baconivity.
The premise of special baconivity is the ability of bacon to be both a food and non-food at the same time. The chief properties of bacon in this law apply to each of the two realities. It is a food because of its miraculous flavor and life-giving nutrition. This is the easy part of baconivity. It follows the classical view of bacon and food in general.
Bacon also has a very special attribute that seems to go against traditional views of the things we eat. No matter how much bacon you consume, it doesn’t actually occupy physical space in your stomach. There always seems to be room for bacon. No other food seems to have this ability. It elevates bacon to new category of being a non-food, Supplere non Complere. It roughly translates “to make complete, but not to fill up.”
While further tests are required to gain the whole picture of the duality of bacon, these early results show a promising future for bacon.

Yay for the applied sciences
