Bloggaday 267 – SotW 24: Sweet Child o’ Mine pt 1
“Tom Standards” douche and Wife jokes
Chuck: Hello and welcome to the 24th edition of the Song of the Week. As always, I am Chuck, and with me is Tom.
Tom: Howya doin there, folks!
Chuck: Yes, well, from what I hear, we have an interesting situation for our song this week. Why don’t you tell the Bloggaday Readers about that?
Tom: I suppose I could do that. Frack forbid you should keep up to date on the Bloggaday iTunes.
Chuck: I’m sorry, Tom. I didn’t know you felt that way. I just figured this would be a good thing for you to do.
Tom: Wow, emo much there, Chuck? I’m just bitching fo-
Chuck: Language.
Tom: OH, yeah, I’m just… complaining for the sake of complaining.
Chuck: Okay, I just want to make sure we’re good.
Tom: We’re fine, but I do have a question.
Chuck: What’s that?
Tom: After you hit 30, do you have to go to the gynecologist more often, or do they just figure you’re fine with that once-a-year schedule you’ve been on?
Chuck: Just get to the songs, Tom.
Tom: Well, this was a week of covers for the Bloggaday.
Chuck: Okaaaayyyy. So what song is our cover coming from?
Tom: Well, first off, we have 4 covers of the same song this week.
Chuck: …
Tom: …
Chuck: Well?
Tom: What?
Chuck: You said, “first off,” but only made ONE point.
Tom: ? Oh, sorry. Um… I don’t remember. Sorry ’bout that though.
Chuck: Well, what song could possibly drive Bloggaday Author, David Dysart, to download the same song FOUR times.
Tom: Well, to be fair, it’s 4 covers, which are four very different version of the song. Heck, one of the versions doesn’t even have lyrics.
Chuck: Well, let’s talk about what we’ve got this week.
Tom: Well, our first song… err… artist to cover our mystery song is…
Meh
“Sweet Child O’ Mine”
By
Chuck: “Sweet Child O’ Mine” is a rock song, right?
Tom: Yeah, it’s a tune by Guns ‘N’ Roses. Amanda’s version though is an acoustic performance.
Chuck: That’s right. I knew I’d heard of it before. So what’s next?
Tom: Well, it’s
“Sweet Child O’ Mine”
By
Chuck: What, what?
Tom: Yeah, I don’t know… That’s her Youtube name.
Chuck: Anyways…
Tom: This particular cover is strictly piano, no vocals. I should also say, the linkspeak I’m doing will send you to their Youtube performance
Chuck: So, what’s our third song?
Tom: “Sweet Child O’ Mine”
By
Chuck: And the theme of this one?
Tom: Freya and Asher actually do a pretty true cover to the original… except… you know… the whole lead singer being a woman thing.
Chuck: Well, given the style of 80’s hair-rock bands, they probably get all dossied up in a very similar fashion.
Tom: Haha, nice one there, Chuck. I think that’s the first funny thing you’ve said in our 24 SotWs together.
Chuck: Thanks, Tom. So what’s our last song this week?
Tom: “Sweet Child O’ Mine”

Chuck: Well, it looks like we’re over our count for today, so we’ll have to continue tomorrow.
Tom: Sounds good to me.
Chuck: Well, thank you, Bloggaday Readers, and we hope you join us tomorrow when we discuss our last cover and name our Song of the Week. Have a great day everyone. We’ll type at you tomorrow.

New to the Bloggaday? These are the essential posts to see
158 – Boxer V Brief – Short, concise joke machine and a DYNAMIC ENTRANCE! to my favorite Bloggadays of the Second Trigaday
159 – A Phthalates-filled Sbarro Breadstick – This was just a funny Bloggaday despite the essence being something no one will get unless the look up what a phthalate is
174 – FNtCCA,aToTbDD– While I think it’s clear I rarely EDIT the Bloggaday, this train-of-thought post shows how much I have to FILTER it…
183 – SotW 13 – This one had it all. Pretty much every bit that’s been a major player in the SotW made its way into this one, so it’s a good one to try.
134 – SotW 5 – This particular Song of the Week featured the characters a bit truer to their original concept. After a while, I started liking Tom too much and changed him a bit which caused changes to Chuck.
227 – PWND: TSHBRotCCPS pt16 was some solid fiction content. Plus, that was probably some of the finest Final Thought I’ve ever thought up.
Close the screen, the awesome’s getting out
