Bloggaday 139 – Post-PWND: The Supernatural Handicap Battle Royal of the Century Christmas Party Spectacular part 2

Bloggaday 139 – Post-PWND: The Supernatural Handicap Battle Royal of the Century Christmas Party Spectacular part 2

What’s this, a special Saturday edition of PWND? AWESOME.

See, I can read my reader’s mind. Impressed much?

Again, I know you are.

600+ words of new content to continue Wed-nes-day’s fiction here http://thebloggaday.blogspot.com/2010/06/bloggaday-136-pwnd-supernatural.html Things be startin towards excitement. This post puts you at 1100 words out of the 2000 that I have written. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like I’m going to make the July 4th deadline over at http://www.undeadinthehead.com/p/call-for-submissions.html. Wait a minute. That deadline isn’t until August 20. Yay. I was thinking of the zombie flash fiction contest over at http://midnightcorey.com/2010/06/eric-s-brown-and-david-dunwoody-zombie-flash-fiction-contest/ which I wasn’t even planning on entering. I wonder if I can squeeze what a have, shortstop the ending, and shrinkrap it all into 500 words for that second contest.

Well, I should probably shut up now. This ramble is starting to get long enough to get it’s own Bloggaday, especially since there is a few thing I want to say* that could push it a bit longer.

Until next time, enjoy the Bloggaday

“Yeah. She tried teaching me some conversational Romania, but the only thing I retained was suge pula.”

A drop of the deep red trailed down Henric’ chin as the jarring of the laugh threatened to spill it all. He wiped the drop as it raced across his pale skin. “That is very funny. Are you sure you know what that means?”

“Yeah, you don’t think that would help me over there? I figured I could fake my way through it as long as I knew that.”

Henric ground the drop into his thumb as he said, “I wouldn’t call ‘conversational Romanian,’ but I’m sure you and your wife will have a lot of fun.”

The two stood there, nodding through the silence. Paul finally said, “So what do you do?”

“I’m a medical researcher. I specialize in blood disorders. What about yourself”

“Ah,” the big man grunted. “I own my construction company.”

“Rough times for the construction, isn’t it?”

“Not so much,” Paul said, offering his cup. After Henric tipped his glass to the plastic rim, the big man continued, “I specialize in the more customized housing projects up here so I’ve been pretty lucky compared to most of my buddies.”

“Specialized?” Henric repeated with a quizzitive eyebrow.

“Yeah, the hush, hush stuff,” Paul turned to him, closing with a long, “Shhhhhhhhh.”

“My wife and I are thinking about a remodel. Could I get your card?”

“Sure,” Paul said, draining the cup before dropping it to the table. “I’ll be sure to give you the first cousin price,” he continued jamming his mitt into his pocket. As he retrieved the wallet, the glass in the living room shattered.

The pair looked back to the game as a body flew from the window and tackled the pantomime to the ground. The newcomer flipped the man over and started tearing at his stomach.

The two returned to their conversation as Henric said, “What would be the best time to call? Or should I email you?”

“You know what? I’ll write my home phone and email on here. Whatever works for you.”

Paul pulled a pen from his shirt pocket as the man from the living room finally broke his silence, “Ahh, those are my intestines! What is he doing to my intestines?”

After scribbling on the card, he fanned it once and gave it to the man.

“Isn’t your wife in there playing the charades?” Henric asked.

“Oh don’t worry about her. She’ll be fine.” The pair looked at the men wrestling and screaming on the floor before Paul continued, “I didn’t think it was possible, but he’s actually more annoying now than before.”

With a nod, Henric agreed, “I suppose that’s reason enough.” Setting his glass on the table, he took a step before Paul placed an arm on his shoulder.

“Now you don’t want to get that nice coat all messy, do you?”

Henric turned and pointed up at the man. “Good point.” He flipped the jacket off and slid it over a chair with a single motion. As he turned, he began to speak, “Perhaps you can take the man’s,” he stopped as he watched Paul charge into the commotion.

The brute punted the savage and sent him into the couch. He leaned into the couch and tried for another kick, but the ravenous little man squirmed away and shot for the twitching body treading in its own blood.

Paul started for the men, but Henric hooked his arms around the crazed man’s shoulders and dragged him to his feet.

Paul stepped over the twitcher on the ground and landed a blow on the temple of the assailant. His head snapped back, a chunk of bone impaling a spewing eyeball. “Fuck,” Paul said, recoiling for a moment. He tried a few body shots, but the thing continued to snap at him.

The man continued to thrash against Henric until the Romanian finally let go. The man only made it a step though before Henric grabbed his head and gave it a jerk. A wet snap preceded the man’s collapse, and Henric dusted his hands. “There we go.”

With a closing step, Paul held his hand up and said, “High five.”

Henric offered an eyebrow, but when the man refused to take his hand back, he surrendered and clapped his hand.

“Ohho,” a voice came from the floor. “I can see my lunch coming out of my intestines! Somebody push it back in. Please!”

Bloggaday 138 – June Performer of the Month Part 2

Bloggaday 138 – June Performer of the Month Part 2

Chuck: Hello, folks, and welcome to the second part of the June Performer of the Month

Tom: I’m sure you folks who read part 1 are surprised that we are still hosting the Performer of the Month.

Chuck: Well, the short of it is somebody broke Dan’s jaw so he couldn’t do the Performer of the Month for June.

Tom: Well, I think owe a thank you to a certain somebody then.

Chuck: I don’t know. I might not have a job for the Song of the Week because of that somebody.

Tom: Wait, what were we talking about.

Chuck: I can’t believe I’m working with somebody.

Tom: I’m still lost, Chuck.

Chuck: I suppose we should just get into he Performer of the Month

Tom: That sounds great, Chuck.

Chuck: Well, first up, we have the iPhone game N.Y. Zombies from Foursaken Media

Tom: Ah, N.Y. Zombies. When I heard it was going to be a Performer of the Month, I decided to try it.

Chuck: So what did you think?

Tom: It was fun. And a lot easier once I finally bought the Molotov cocktails and proximity mines.

Chuck: I have NO idea what you are talking about.

Tom: I think I’m talking about Rock Sugar, our 2nd Performer of the Month ,and the dominant band for the month.

Chuck: You took the words right out of my mouth. Or should I say script…

Tom: Either way.

Chuck: Well, our third Performer of the Month

Tom: Is Jake Bible, author, producer, and reader of the Dead Mech podcast.

Chuck: You son of

Tom: All of that stuff about the script, and here’s your chance. You can take my part.

Chuck: /Sigh Let’s see what we have here. Jake Bible, author of the first ever drabble novel. What the hell is a drabble novel?

Tom: Well, a drabble novel is a series of 100 word sections that come together to create a book.

Chuck: So why did he get the spot for the 3rd Performer of the Month?

Tom: Apparently after quite the hiatus, Bloggaday author, David listened to the last 15 or so episodes of the podcast.

Chuck: So I’m guessing since Jake Bible got the spot as a Performer of the Month, he also got the point for Podcaster of the Year.

Tom: That’s right, Chuck, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. We still have crown the Performer of the Month.

Chuck: That’s right. And the soul Performer of the Month is Jake Bible of Dead Mech.

Tom: His taking of the month of June gives him 1 point towards the Podcaster of the Year. That ties him with Mike Schmidt who also has taken 1 month.

Chuck: That’s true, but even though Jake Bible moved to a weekly release schedule, it seems unlikely that he’ll be able to keep his momentum up and beat out the heavy hitters like Scott Sigler, the aforementioned Mike Schmidt, or even Brian Brushwood.

Tom: Well, it will be an interesting race to watch, Chuck.

Chuck: It sure will be, Tom.

Tom: Well that’s all of the time we have for today, folks.

Chuck: Wait, are you doing my outro?

Tom: We already agreed to swap.

Chuck: No, you said I could take your part.

Tom: And I would in turn take your part. Give and take, Chuck. Give and take.

Chuck: You know what I’m tired of your

Tom: And you just got muted.* Thanks, Paul

Paul: No problem.

Tom: Until next time, this has been Chuck and Tom covering this Month’s Performer of the Month. I thank you for choosing us, and I hope you make the same choice evert week for your song info and entertainment. Have a great day everyone.

Bloggaday 137 – June Performer of the Month… Part 1?

Bloggaday 137 – June Performer of the Month… Part 1?

Chuck: Hello, folks, and welcome back to the Bloggaday

Tom: No, folks, this is not a double, Wednesday edition of The Song of the Week

Chuck: That’s right, Tom. We are here to report this month’s Performer of the Month

Tom: Not only that but also an update for the Podcaster of the year

Chuck: I know, Tom. If you wouldn’t have interrupted me, I would have gotten to that.

Tom: Of course you would have, Chuck.

Chuck: Well, I love to see your confi-

Paul: Excuse me guys. What are you doing here?

Tom: Paul?

Chuck: Well, everyone. I’d like to introduce you all to Paul. He’s the producer/director/personel/etc./etc guy for the Bloggaday.

Paul: Yeah, well, it still stands. Why the hell are you guys here?

Chuck: What do you mean? We’re doing the Performer of the Month.

Tom: Yeah, it’s kind of what we do, and you know what? We do what we do.

Paul: Well, the Performer of the Month is NOT what you guys do.

Tom: Huh?

Paul: We got two other guys to do the Performer of the Month. You guys already do the Song of the Week. Why would we have you guys do this one too?

Chuck: Wait a minute. Didn’t you tell me that David got us the job?

Tom: Yeah. I’ll get him on the phone. Hold on.

Chuck: What do you mean you got other people, Paul?

Paul: Yeah. Honestly, you guys are lucky they didn’t try out for the Song of the Week bit.

Chuck: What are you trying to say there Paul?

Phone: Ring Ring Ring

Paul: I’m saying we settled for you guys. These two are actually good at their job. They’re settling for US. Thank goodness for this economy

Chuck: I resent that, Paul.

Tom: Actually, WE resemble that, Chuck.

Chuck: Tom!

Tom: What? Do you think the other guys would be having this conversation on the Bloggaday? They probably would have stopped down for this.

Phone: Hello? Tom?

Tom: Hey. David. We need to talk to you.

Phone: What’s up?

Chuck: David. It’s Chuck. Paul is saying we didn’t get the Performer of the Month gig on the Bloggaday.

Tom: Last time we talked, you said we had the job.

Phone: When we were one the Song of the Week together? I said I would put in a good word for you guys.

Chuck: Well, you could have let us know we didn’t get it before we came on here and made assess out of ourselves.

Tom: Yeah. You’re acting about as professional as we are.

Chuck: You’re not helping our case here, Tom.

Phone: I did let you guys know. I called Tom and left a message on his answering machine.

Tom: Oh.

Chuck: Oh, what?

Tom: Yeah, I tend to get REALLY drunk and delete messages I don’t like. It’s a real bitch at times.

Chuck: Come on, Tom. We’ve got to salvage this, and that kind of language isn’t exactly getting the job done.

Tom: Well, sorry, David

Chuck: Yeah. We didn’t mean to bug you on your day off.

Phone: No problem. I hope you guys get it all figured out.

Tom: Hold on, David.

Phone: Yeah? What’s up?

Tom: Have you met the guys who are going to do the Performer of the Month?

Phone: Yeah. I’m actually surprised they’re not there. They seemed like the kind of guys that would actually get there early.

Chuck: I didn’t see anyone when I got here.

Tom: They only folks here were some roadies. They were jerks though. Said we sucked, and they could do a better job. Couple of wimps though. I cleaned that up for you, Chuck. So I kicked their a*

Phone: Did they say they could do a better job or they WOULD do a better job?

Tom: Oh. It might have been would. Ooo. Sorry. Are we going to get one of those hostile workplace things?

Chuck: Hostile workplace things? You’re probably going to jail.

Tom: Wait, wait, wait. It might not have even of been them. What were their names?

Phone: It’s Jack and Dan.

Tom: Oooo,

Chuck: Wait a minute, did you get a whiskey to do the Performer of the Month?

Tom: No, I think they got a Mellencamp song to host it.

Phone: Hey, guys. I know I’ve been with you for a while. How far into the Bloggaday are we?

Paul: Hey, David. It’s Paul. They’re already at like 750 words, and they haven’t even done anything for the Performer of the Month

Phone: Good tuck n roll. And you guys wonder why you’re not doing the Performer of the Month. Rap it up. We’ll carry it over until tomorrow.

Tom: Sorry, David. I’ll talk to you later.

Phone: Yeah, whatever.

Chuck: Woo.

Tom: Yeah, he was kind of a jerk there, huh.

Paul. Guys, you are still going.

Chuck: Okay

Tom: Quite the mess we got ourselves into.

Chuck: Yes, well… Thank you folks for dialing into the Bloggaday for the Performer of the Month. Come back tomorrow to find out the answer to this cliffhanger and Monday to see if we still have a job

Tom: Ooo, that was nicely done.

Chuck: Yeah. Tomorrow, we’ll reveal who the Performer of the Month is.

Tom: Oh, and we’ll see which podcaster took this month’s point for the race to Podcaster of the Year

Chuck: Yes. I just want to thank you all again for

Phone: Ring Ring Ring

Chuck: Come one, Tom. I’m doing the outro. Can’t you turn your phone off?

Tom: Go on.

Chuck: Thank you following us. For daily Bloggadays, you can go to http://thebloggaday.blogspot.com/

Tom: Oh, hey, Honey. So what are you wearing?

Chuck: What, did you get a new girlfriend, Tom?

Tom: Yeah, It’s your wife.

Chuck: You son of a

Paul: Okay, you guys are done.
