Bloggaday 175 – Redlands Representin’

Bloggaday 175 – Redlands Representin’

Man, I’ve got to give it up to Redlands. This city friggin’ dominates reality contests. While I’m a not reality show savant, for the ones I’ve seen, contestants from Redlands, California do really really well.

I don’t remember which season it was, but So You Think You Can Dance a few years ago had Benji Schwimmer and then his sister a year or two afterwards. Okay, I should probably go online and get all of my information straight. In season 2, Benji Schwimmer won the whole thing. Guess where the season 2 winner hails from?

If you guessed New York City, then I’d wonder about you. Didn’t you read the first paragraph? I would have thought it obvious that Benji came from Redlands. His sister then placed 4th in the following season.

Now that’s not a bad showing but not the reason for the Bloggaday. If memory serves, there was an American Idol contestant that did pretty well from Redlands, but again, not the reason for this Bloggaday. I thought Haspop from AGT had been out of Redlands since he came over, but apparently it was somebody else. Since that doesn’t seem to be resonating with me too much, then why would I write this Bloggaday? Other than I’m behind the 8-ball from being AFK of course.

Well, I suppose I’ll tell you. I watch me some Hell’s Kitchen, and I just found out a person in the finale this season is a Redlandsineer. I held off on mentioning a name for spoiler reasons, but I shall reveal it now, so I would probably just skip this here paragraph. Have you skipped it yet? No? Then apparently you just don’t care about Hell’s Kitchen, and honestly, I don’t know if I want a non-Ramsay-er reading this… Molli from Hell’s Kitchen, one of the top 2, is a Redlandsonian.*

Is Redlands becoming a mecca for entertainers? Well, they say performers tend to be a bit kooky, and I must say, Redlands has got some kooky people. I suppose we just have to keep watching more talent shows to catch some more Redlandsonites.
